Under some circumstances, such as structural weakness, it is necessary to limit the gross weight of vehicles on bridges on a temporary, seasonal or more permanent basis. The standard size sign (Rb-63) should be used where posted speed limit is 60 km/h or less. The oversize sign (Rb-163) should be used where posted speed limit is 70 km/h or greater.
